The BEST DIET according to a vet

Emergency Update.

I know It's Glittle's birthday, well hadiah nya is a trip to the vet. HADIAH KE? ehehe anyway, He is not with me right now. But my wakil teman kan Glittle and Ginger pergi vet to do a check up. I've been to 2 vets so far and this is my 3rd one. 

The previous vets tu I can't tell di mana because the vet tak bagi advertise, but you can PM me or anything. 

Satu vet tu bagus, tapi ramai orang datang so kene tunggu lama. The other vet tu doctor tu macam kecoh kecoh sikit, and apparently, he gave THE WRONG medicine to GINGER!

OK, let's just skip that part and go to the main part.

This clinic nama dia HEALING ROOMS, terletak dekat dengat Subang Parade.

The vet memang nampak like berpengalaman sangat (based on what my Wakil told me)

So, bermula lah kisah medical check up.

Glittle : 94grams 

Ginger : 66grams

Glittle is normal because dah nak 100 grams, tapi Ginger kurus sikit. Dia memang baka kecik pon. Tapi now dia pregnant. So kene take good care of her lebih sikit sebab ada baby. 

Here is the diet for ADULT sugar gliders:

PROTEIN 70% - potong ayam rebus in cubes. Anggaran dalam sebesar line pertama pada jari kita, itu lah satu cube. So dua cube untuk seekor. This has to be fed EVERY SINGLE DAY. Bagi ayam rebus OR HPW.

                  

Calcium - Tak payah sangat sebab diorang dah adult. Bagi je yang ada jual dekat kedai tu. All those Glider Calcium and stuff.

Pellet - EVERYDAY. (I was shocked jugak sebab I hate pellets) Anyway, the vet knows best so ikut je la.

Fruits - Bagi tapi tak banyak sangat pun tak apa. CONTOH : Like suku apple pon dah cukup kuantiti nye. Jangan bagi apple je ye.

FOR PREGGIE SUGGIES :

-NO PAPAYA

-NO MANGO

-NO UBAT

-NO YOGURT

So the vet did a medical check up for them, they have Parasite dalam badan mereka. 

PUNCA parasit can come from LIVE Mealworms, LIVE Crickets, and also boleh didapati dari SG lain. Like masa kite adopt mereka, mereka kan bercampur dgn SG lain. If satu ade parasite, memang yang lain akan kene gak.

So the cost for all this adalah :

Girls and Guys, I know maybe kite terkejut dengan all these information. Saya pun sama. But dengan pengalaman VET ni, I believe she's right. So up to kite semua, nak change their diet ke tak. Tanda tanda awal Hind Leg Paralysis is the glider being shaky bile berpaut. Bukan yang vibrate tu. So lebih baik kita elakkan. InshaAllah. 

We made another appointment next Wednesday to bawak si kecik kecik pula pergi check up. I will go there so maybe I can take pics and gather more info, so I can share it with all of you.

Today is Glittle's birthday! Well not birthday like birth-day, but kira macam birthday je la because genap setahun yang lepas, I adopted him at Ikano. 29th of June 2010. Kalau ikutkan, he is now around 1year and 4months macam tu. 

So Glittle, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Even though you are not with me right now, nanti kita jumpa k? Selamat mengayuh wheel laju laju! It's your day today, you're the KING of the GLIDERS today!

You can't eat any cakes, so can I give you this instead??

Tak sangka dah setahun dah ade Glittle! Dah siap ada dua anak lagi tu, plus satu menantu. SATU TAHUN TUUUUU.. That means, 365 days of me potong buah siang malam. WOAH for me! 

Yep! 1 year, Glittle! So malam ni have a nice sleep and stretch all you want sebab you deserve it!

Assalamualaikum to all suggie owners out there!

Okey, hari ini adalah hari yang penuh bersejarah sekali because this is the FIRST time I brought Garlic, Glukos and Jazmin pergi potong kuku! I was kinda worried takot mereka terkejut, takut, menangis and stuff, but surprisingly, it all went very smooth! Macam tak percayaaaa je. First, It was Ginger's turn. I recorded a video of all of them potong kuku just to share with all of you, UNFORTUNATELY, tah kenapa entah tak boleh nak upload. Anyway, Ginger memang dah biase potong and selalunya dia memang senyap je. So kira behave la kan? Ok, after Ginger, giliran si ayah Glittle pulak! Dia memang TAK NAK langsung potong kuku! Adoi... macam mana kalau tak potong? susah la. Nak jalan jalan pon susah sebab kuku dia asyik stuck je kat baju. So nak tak nak terpaksa push him to potong jugak. Biasanya die akan bising! Like buat bunyi bunyi macam menangis like crabbing, tapi kali ini, ALHAMDULILLAH! Diaaaam je die! Tapi, not so fast. Diam diam pon, dia gigit si pakcik pemotong kuku tu kuat gila! Nasib balik la ada kain lapik, or else, al maklum, berdarah lah tangan pakcik tu. And then Glittle genggam tangan dia kuat gile so that kuku dia tak boleh dipotong. Pandai pulak si Ayah ni! 

Anyway, moving on to my cucu cucu, they ALL behaved! Yahoooooo!!! Yabadabadooo!!! Happy, lega, seronok, SEMUA ada! Yela, if they behave like their dad, abis la. Memang susah gila lepas ni nak potong kuku.

After potong kuku, seperti biase, PERKARA WAJIB apabila pergi Suggie Shop, I bought new toys for my babies! Ramai pulak customer tadi. Kira macam penuh la tempat tu. Okey, enough of the bebel-ness, jom tengok gambar. Penaaat camera man ambik :p

Okay! I hope all of you pun rajin rajin potong kuku mereka sebab kesian kalau sangkut sangkut. Saya memang tak reti nak potong sendiri, sebab tu la hantar sini je! FREEEEEE!

Random days - cuci pouch, ayam rebus!

Assalamualaikum!

Hello, I just want to share what I do on a random Saturday. So memandangkan I was at home, I just spent time with my babies. Cuci cage, cuci pouch, played with them, and gave them Ayam Rebus! Haaa this is the first time i'm giving it to Garlic, Glukos and Jazmin. Glittle and Ginger dah biasa makan dah. I give them ayam rebus occasionally. So here are some some pics that I wanna share. Sikit je, tak banyak :)

Those are just half of the pouches that I own, sekali dengan hammock sekali  and a bit of toys :) Ok, moving on, ni pulak gambar gambar cucu makan ayam rebus. They LOVE it soooo much, they couldn't stop eating! Bila dekat tangan Garlic dah habis, dia pergi curi ayam kat tangan Jazmin. Comel sangat! Dahla makan bersepah! Oh sorry I took these pics from my Blackberry so gambar takde quality sikit :)

Oh, Gambar yang first sekali tu, that's the amount that I boiled for all five of them. I only gave the babies sikit sahaja because I didn't want them to have too much protein nanti tak seimbang pulak. Okey, for those of you who haven't tried yet, you can try giving them ayam rebus because they just L-O-V-E it so much!

Get to know Jazmin!

Jazmin Moments

When I first adopted Jazmin at Suggie Shop, I immediately connected with her and just knew she was the one. I went to that shop just to buy some pouches for my babies, and ended up taking Jazmin home. Jazmin is Glukose's GF.  Memang kene cari GF yang lagi older than the male. 

Jazmin is very MANJA since the first day I held her. She slept on my hands instantly! Now she lives in the same cage with Garlic and Glukos. Everytime saya jenguk cage, MESTI dia nak keluar. When she's sleeping, if she hears my footsteps coming near the cage, she would cepat cepat tunggu depan pintu and buat muka kesian. But I'm always very happy to bawak dia keluar sebab among all, dia paling tak aggressive. She doesn't jump around and it is very easy to handle her. Everytime I feed her, she will take time to sniff that fruit first, then dah lama baru makan. Even yogurt drops! Most suggies would ambik je yogurt drops and makan terus, but not Jazmin. I love you Jazmin!

Oh! Jazmin seperti menganggap herself as a BIG sister to the others sebab she will lick Garlic and Glukos, hug them while they sleep. I feel sorry for her bila kene letak Garlic and Glukos pergi cage Glittle and Ginger. Yela, the other two tu kene minum susu lagi. Jazmin would just stare at the other cage and wait for them to come back. Bila saya masukkan si dua lagi tu, TERUS die peluk peluk sampai si dua tu RIMAS. Kesian Jazmin.

Get to know Garlic & Glukos!

Ok,  In this special post, let me introduce another two of my cute babies! But before that, because they are still small, I'm not quite sure what are their favorite fruits and stuff but I'll share what I can! CHOP! Garlic and Glukos muka sebijik so it's still hard for me to differentiate them. Macam kembar like real kembars! So asyik asyik saya kene check di bawah mereka. Kalau ade pouch, Garlic la tu. Kalau tak, Glukos.

Garlic Moments

When she was a few days old, di pagi hari i heard a small sound di cage mereka. Then I saw Glittle, Ginger and Glukos were in their sleeping pouch sleeping. Dengan perasaan terkejut, saya terus cari bunyi tu di mana. Memang bunyi macam joey menangis. Suara pon macam tak ada lagi. Tengok tengok, dia kat luar pouch, macam sorok sorok sikit. Kesian dia kesejukan. Thank God I prepared a box outside the pouch so Garlic tetap secured di dalam box tu. Straight away I took her and put her inside the pouch. Kesian dia:(

There was this other time, ni dah umur sebulan lebih la kira kira. Cage Glittle and Ginger kat sebelah cage si kecil ni. I seperated them kadang kadang je. Then satu pagi, I was sleeping. Tetibe my room mate berdiri tepi cage pegang Garlic! I just smiled and went back to sleep sebab I don't mind pon kalau room mates pegang. Then my room mate tu  cakap, dia tak main dengan Garlic. Dia nampak Garlic dah dekat luar cage dah heading to cage Glittle and Ginger! I was like, MACAMANA GARLIC BOLEH TERLEPAS? Sedangkan it was locked?!!! Then I tried to experiment her and tengok dia buat apa. Bila masukkan dia dalam cage balik, RUPA RUPA NYA, dia penyekkan kepala dia, berusaha bersungguh sungguh untuk escape celah jaring jaring! And it worked! Adoi. Nasib baik ade orang nampak! Kalau tak, tak tahu la dia sampai ke tak cage ibu bapa dia tu. Garlic.. Garlic.. Now dah besar, kepala dah tak muat. Padan muka :p

Glukos Moments

Glukos is very manja when he was so small. I mean dia jenis duduk diam (masa dulu je la). He was the one yang keluar pouch dulu. Everytime I peeked into Ginger's pouch, mesti nampak seperti gambar yang dibawah ni.

So maknenye, badan dia memang nak keluar pouch dari awal lagi. Tak sabar agaknye! Si Garlic pulak kat belah dalam pouch mak dia so saya memang tak pernah tengok dia terkeluar.

Glukos has this one attitude which I think he got it from Glittle. Glukos is very TAMAK. He doesn't want to share. Kalau ramai ramai makan, dia akan ambil makan dia, pergi jauh jauh. Kadang kadang gaduh dengan Garlic berebut makanan. Padahal ada je banyak lagi. Glukos nak jugak yang dekat tangan Garlic. Kesian Garlic. But that's just his sifat semula jadi:)

Tapi, Glukos dah ada partner! Jazmin namanya. Later I'll explain tentang Jazmin. So kecik kecik dah ada GF.

Quickie!

Hello there :)

Just a quick update! Today I went out with Jazmin seorang. Glittle, Ginger, Garlic, Glukos tinggal rumah sebab I just wanted them to have their tiny family time. Yela, Jazmin is not technically their darah daging. I adopted her to be Glukos punya wife. Anyway, she behaved dalam KTM. Adala orang pandang2 pelik sebab Jazmin intai intai dekat tingkap. Anyway, sebenarnya nak share satu benda. 

I finally used the Bonding Pouch that I made! Yay for me! It was safe, big, comfy, and, matches my outfit! 

Yep! It's big! Fits all my suggies. And it looks more like a bag, so i feel comfortable bila memakainya di tepi :)

Kite semua pon boleh design and jahit pouch sendiri untuk kesesuaian diri masing masing. Trust me, Puas Hati! And most importantly, our suggies can feel the love from us. Chewah...

Glittle's Little Castle

Okey. Exaggerate sangat la tajuk tu. Kira cage lah senang cite. Glittle has 5 cages! Bukan dia punye sorang, but because he's the leader of his tiny family, kira semua tu under nama dia je lah. Anyway, because of saya duduk di hostel dan also at home, having one or two cages merupakan sangat susah untuk saya. That's why I have FOUR cages! Actually kalau campur dengan travelling cage, cage masa dulu dulu , then ada SIX! Sebab itu la I call it castle! At SEGi, my hostel, I have two. One for Glittle and Ginger, and one for the three little babies. Glittle and Ginger punye besar! Si kecik kecik punye je kecik sebab padan la dengan size. Why did I buy two? sebab Glittle and Ginger tak kawan ngan Jazmin (Still, I haven't told you about Jazmin). --Fast forward-- And di rumah, I have two jugak. But two small ones la. POKAI la kalau nak beli yang besar je eheheh Lagi pon I go home only on weekends so kira macam sekejap je mereka akan kat cage kecik except for cuti panjang. 

I ALWAYS tukar layout cage mereka. I was told that sugar gliders get bored easily. Tak payah beli mainan banyak banyak ke apa, its ok. What I do is, due to the amount of cages that I have, I exchange semua cages punya toys, accessories, pouches and stuff. So it's like rotating la, and also mix and match. Anyway, gambar disediakan dibawah. Kalau tengok yang pokedot pokedot tu saya lah yang menjahit! :D

Ehhhh! kejap! One more thing! I don't put bedding anymore because I realize that it's easier to clean their cages without bedding. I used to put bedding, macam macam jenis saya cuba, but it smells, and bila ada bedding macam malas sikit nak cuci. Bila tak de, macam rajin SIKIT la. 

So that's it :) The toys in their cage boleh dibuat macam mana pon ikot creativity masing masing! It's very easy, just hang a few strings or thin ropes, pon dah cukup memadai untuk mereka grab!

Sewing my own Bonding Pouch, Sleeping Pouch, Hammock, and Hut :)

Assalamualaikum! Kom ape kombet! Bet ape betmen! Men ape mentol!

It had been a loooong weekend for me. Not so long, dua hari je pon just like any other weekends, tapi kali ni, I'm so happy and tired as well. Tengok je la title atas tu! I finally managed to jahit all those stuff for them! Memang dari dulu lagi nak jahit sendiri, but then I didn't have the time and the equipment and stuff. But now I'm on my semester break, so apa lagi, menjahit lah! The thing is, bila jahit, kite puas hati sendiri. Biar lah kalau senget benget pon, yang penting buat sendiri. Don't get me wrong, I have no complaints at all pasal pouches yang dijual di kedai. Cuma saja nak design sendiri. Lagipon, bila buat sendiri, pilih kain sendiri, benang sendiri, zip sendiri, pouch tu jadi lah special! Dalam satu dunia, I'm the only one who has my pouch seperti yang ditunjukkan di gambar di bawah japgi (sabar ye).. Best kan bila takyah sama dengan orang lain? Anyway, ofcourse susah bila mula mula nak jahit. yang paling senang is sleeping pouch. The most challenging pouch for me is the Bonding Pouch! Yela, there's the zip, net, tali and stuff. Even my mom had to help me do it (Mak yang suruh mention kat blog) ehehe THANKS MAK! Dekat youtube ada tunjuk, tapi die tak letak net. Macamana la suggie dia nak bernafas? ahahaha omputeh.... omputeh...! 

Anyway, nak cari fleece bukan senang! I had to go to Jalan TAR for like one whole day untuk cari fleece yang sesuai. Separuh kedai, they call it kain Flannel. Ada yang tebal, ada yang nipis. So we just have to pandai pandai cari sendiri. I went to Kamdar and Alhamdulillah ada! The designs are very limited. Most designs that I saw are the ones yang dah already jual kat kedai, so I didn't buy those sebab nanti sama la dengan orang jual kat luar. So bla bla bla, here are some pics to sum it up!
